The Hobbit

Okay, I haven't posted for a while. Actually I haven't posted for a year, and my time is up. But I'm just going to continue the blog whenever I have time, which isn't often due to homework. So here goes:

I recently read a book by J.R.R. Tolkien a few of you may have heard of. It's called: The Hobbit. It's an absolutely fantastic book. The movie just doesn't quite surpass it. Some of the charachters can be a bit tiresome (*cough* Thorin *cough*), but the overall book is one of the best in the UNIVERSE. I never thought I'd say this, but it may just beat the Warriors series. GASP!

If you read the Hobbit, and like it, you will definitely love books like:
- The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien
- The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkien
- The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King by J.R.R. Tolkein
- The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkein

Remember: The Hobbit is a childrens book. It's not meant to scare the living daylights out of you, it's meant to amuse you.

If you haven't seen The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, go read the book before you read the movie. Everything makes more sense.

Warriors, Sunrise

Warriors

Sunrise
Warriors, Sunrise is about the murder of Ashfur. It starts by gripping you in completely:

Moonlight washed over the stone hollow, bright as day, but beneath the bushes and at the edges under the cliffs, dark shadows seemed to uncoil like claws. Leafpool crouched over Ashfur's limp body. The pale light turned the gray fur to silver as the groomed it for his burial. Beside her, Jayfeather helped, smoothing Ashfur's tail and fluffing it up as it dried...

Ok, it may not be gripping you, but you haven't heard the next bit

Leafpool began to clear the clean eath and grit out of the dead warriors pads. Something light fluttered against her musszle, she drew back to see a tuft of fur snagged in Ashfur's claws. "No! This can't be true!" Leaning closer, Leafpool sniffed the fur "I know that scent!"

Now are you gripped?  It's a super book, I loved every second of it.

Warriors, Outcast

Warriors
Outcast
Squirrelflight, Brambleclaw, Crowfeather, Stormfur, Brook, Tawnypelt, Crowfeathers son, and the three apprentices journey to the mountains when cats from the Tribe of Rushing water arrive with news of cats taking over. It's about them discovering secrets of the tribe of rushing water, the tribe of endless hunting and the prophecy that concerns them. A good book, but not quite as gripping as the rest of the series.

Warriors, Twilight

Warriors
Twilight
Not the vampire-werewolf-Bella Twilight, the Warriors Twilight. It's a really good book full of surprises and hard choices. The book starts out by informing you what happened after Tallstar died, Mudfur, the deputy, started a rebellion against Onewhisker, who had been pronounced the new leader. They fight, a tree falls down, Mudfur suddenly looks like a brown pankake, etc. etc. etc. Then, as the story progresses, Squirrelflight and Brambleclaw slowly become enemies and Ashfur and Squirrelflight start to become friends. Squirrelflights sister, Leafpool is stuck in a hard decision, and whatever path she takes, she will loose something that is dear to her. I really loved Twilight, It's such a great book

Warriors, SkyClans destiny

Warriors
Warriors, SkyClans destiny is about Leafstar, the leader of the Lost Clan as she struggles to maintain a balance between the full warriors, the newcomers and the kitty-warriors/daylight-warriors. Her deputy is leading secret patrols into the two-leg place and she doesn't have the courage to confront him. He's also making decisions without her knowledge. It's a really brilliant book. I loved every second of it. And, P.S. Surprise, surprise, there's a prophecy!

"New-leaf brings storms to SkyClan, you will need deeper roots if you are to survive..."

Long shadows

Warriors
Power of the three
Long shadows
Long shadows is about the three apprentices, or should I say, two warriors and apprentice trying to convince ShadowClan to turn back to their warrior ancestors. Sol, who arrived in "Eclipse" has managed to convince them that their warrior ancestors are nothing but dead cats. So Hollyleaf, Lionblaze, Jaypaw and their cousins, Flamepaw, Dawnpaw and Tigerpaw, fake a sign. Then, they discover a secret, they are not who they thought they were. Ashfur, who knows as well, is going to reveal their secret to get revenge on Squirrelflight for choosing Brambleclaw over him. And then, on their way to a meeting, they find a familiar cat with ash coloured fur, dead in the stream. A really great book with suspense and tonnes of shocks. READ IT NOW!!!!!!!!!

The sight

The sight is where a prophecy comes true.

"There will be three, kin of your kin, who will hold the power of the stars in their paws..."

Hollykit, Lionkit and Jaykit are about to be apprenticed. Little do they know about the prophercy that lies in their path. Hollykit becomes the apprentice of Leafpool, the medicine cat, Jaykit becomes the apprentice of Brightheart, the one eyed warrior, and Lionkit some other cat, but Jaykit and Hollykit are the most important. I loved this book, you really aught to read it.
